Farmers Market (SOJ)
SOJ Farmers Market
Any Richmond-er who has not been to the SOJFM, go immediately (aka the next Saturday)
It is something I look forward to during the warmer months every weekend that I am in town. It is an open-air market with all local produce and items with many food trucks surrounding the vendors. It is the biggest farmers market in the area. When I go, I like to get some free-range eggs, a few veggies and kombucha!
Some of the local farmers that are usually always there are (click on the name for their website) , Agriberry Produce, Alfredo's Raw Honey, Barham Seafood, Cabbage Hill Farm Produce, Cold Country Salmon, Jason Talleys Produce, King's Produce, Pair-a-Dice Farm, Ninja Kombucha, Flower Child Granola, Reginald's Homemade Nut Butters, VegTaBowl Foods
Food Trucks are the next best thing about SOJ. Alchemy Coffee, Kitchenette, Ms. Yoders Donuts, Sammich, and Limeades & More (the best limeades in town!)
Kitchenette is known for their "bagels with the works". This is what I always get, aka I eat this once a week during the summer. They get their bagels from Cupertino's Bagel & Deli (real NY bagels). The Works = a toasted bagel + cream cheese + microgreens, tomatoes, onions, capers and drizzle balsamic glaze on top. I will be posting a photo next time I get this. However, the line typically is usually pretty long and you will wait at least 10 minutes after you order for your food but I promise, it will not disappoint!!
Hours: Saturdays 9am - Noon (Winter) 8am - noon (Summer hours) @ Forest Hill Park (New Kent Ave and 42nd Street)
