Italian Grinder Sliders

- 12 slider buns Hawaiian rolls work great!
- 1 - 1.5 pounds delt meat 2-3 meats of choice
- 8 slices provolone cheese or cheese of choice
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato
- 1/4 cup diced banana peppers optional
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup red pepper relish
- Butter and garlic for brushing the buns optional but highly recommended
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice your slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the tops connected.
Place the bottom half of the buns in a baking dish. Layer on meat and provolone cheese.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Stir in the shredded lettuce, banana peppers (optional) and red onion. Set aside.
Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter mixed with a pinch of garlic powder. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 5 minutes until the cheese is melty.
Remove the sliders from the oven and carefully lift the tops. Spread the grinder salad evenly over the melted cheese, then replace the tops. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
